Tips and Tricks for Experiencing the Ultimate Disney Vacation

Our family had the wonderful opportunity to visit Disney World over the holidays in 2023! It was our first family vacation of this magnitude, and boy did we have the time of our lives! 

But what made it an unforgettable and successful vacation was quite a bit of planning prior to arrival! I will be sharing my top 7 tips for the best Walt Disney World vacation, so that you are equipped with some great ideas as you plan your Disney vacation! Bring your own bag into the parks!


Your bag can include snacks, water, juice boxes, etc… for the family (no glass or alcohol though). You can even bring a picnic style lunch to give your budget a break during lunch time! We brought Skinny Pop individual bags of popcorn to watch during the fireworks show! The kids loved it!


Make sure to utilize a packing list prior to travel!


This will ensure that you and your family have everything you need for a fantastic vacation experience!


Consider ordering your groceries for delivery to your Disney resort!


This cuts down on the cost of eating every meal and snack at the parks. I found this especially helpful with our small children who love to have their favorite snacks and juice boxes/water on hand in the resort room. Keep in mind that you can include diapers and wipes in your order to be delivered instead of trying to find space to pack those items in your already overflowing suitcases.


Make sure to wear comfortable shoes!


Your feet will thank you. Everyone will be doing a crazy amount of walking during each park day, and I can assure you that you will definitely reach your daily step goal! 


Bring a stroller or rent one at the parks! 


We brought our stroller from home, but each park has stroller rental available as well. Make sure that you reserve when you arrive at the park. It was a life-saver with 2 small children!! Our kids were 7 and 4 during the trip, and the stroller came in incredibly handy for needed rest breaks and provided a place to store any souvenirs that we purchased during the day!





Plan on purchasing/making a few family Disney shirts to wear during your days at the parks!


My hubby commented on how easy it was to not have to think about what to wear each morning. I would set everyone’s shirts out for the next day to make our morning routine a breeze.  I used my Cricut machine and created 4 different designs for our family park days. Everyone enjoyed the shirts, and we received many compliments from cast members at the parks!

If you achieve those 3 things, you have met your goal! If you experience even more, that’s just icing on the cake and will lead to a fantastic Disney Vacation for you and your family!
